Knockout Stage Overview

The knockout stage is played during February and March after the group stage matches are completed.

All teams are entered into a knockout group based on their position at the end of the group stage and play up to 3 knockout matches.
This season with the new tiered group format the following guidelines will be used to determine which knockout groups teams go into:

Tier 1 teams (14 teams across 2 groups)
Final group position Knockout group entered into Knockout group seeding
1 1 1 & 2
2 1 3 & 4
3 1 5 & 6
4 1 7 & 8
5 2 1 & 2
6 2 3 & 4
7 3 1 & 2

Tier 2 teams (32 teams across 5 groups)
Final group position Knockout group entered into Knockout group seeding
1 (top 4) 2 5 to 8
1 (5th) 3 3
2 3 4 to 8
4 1 to 5
4 (top 3) 4 6 to 8
4 (4th & 5th) 5 1 & 2
5 5 3 to 7
6 (top 4) 6 1 to 4
6 (5th) 7 1
7 7 2
8 7 3

Tier 3 teams (7 teams across 1 group)

The league organiser reserves the right to make minor changes to the final group entries to handle extraordinary scenarios.

Where there are a number of teams finishing in the same position across groups their sets won and games wons % will be used to help rank them.

A trophy is presented to the team that wins each knockout group and the winners of knockout group 1 are crowned overall league champions. All trophies will be presented and the final of group 1 will be played at the finale day on Sunday 7th April at the Northumberland Club.
